More Street Sign People
I found the street sign for my street with the info on the guy! Turns out Antonio was a patriot.

ObFeminist: I hope you find some cool ladies on street signs as well! Do they mostly seem to be pre-20th century, or are modern personages represented as well? (I don't know what the rate of new building/street renaming is in Milan, prob. pretty low...)
ReplyDeleteThe most recent people I can remember seeing passed away in the 50's, which corresponds with the post-WWII building boom. (The city was hit pretty hard.) Still, I haven't seen many streets named for women even from that era. In fact, the only one I can remember is Viale Regina Margherita... Thanks for pointing this out! I'll be looking for streets named for women!
