A Night in Verona

Now I'm interrupting my vacation photos to bring you some more current travel photos. Yes, I know, I travel a lot.

On Sunday, I went to Verona, taking the regional train out of Centrale. I thought the vaults of the station looked nice in the grey weather.



I checked into my hostel on the East side of town, and pretty quickly headed out to have dinner and explore a bit before heading to the Arena. I saw a few cool things I've never noticed before, like this dig in the middle of a shopping street.



I also really like the buildings in Verona. You can see the Veneto style in these windows...



I had dinner in the Piazza Erbe by the Lamberti Tower. I did not walk under the famed whale rib. I am glad to see the construction on that is down since my last visit to Verona!



And then, I headed to the Arena di Verona, for my main event of the evening, seeing Aida in that awesome setting.
