One day we drove to Bingen and took the ferry to Rüdesheim am Rhein. Unbelievably, the GPS just shows you driving into the river where you take the ferry!
Rudesheim is a cute town, and we checked it out a bit while we were heading up to the gondola base.
See, check out this cute mailbox!
(There were lots of cute mailboxes in Germany, actually.) Anyway, we made a beeline for the gondola to get ourselves up the hills. There's a little bit of forest up on the top, but really, it's mostly vines, vines, vines!
The gondola ride itself was awesome. The sun was behind the clouds and the temperature was quite nice. Alex joined us in our car, so he played photographer.
