La Rinascente

Last night I went downtown to take in the Christmas lights and holiday atmosphere. I ended up going to the department store La Rinascente. It's an upscale store, but it's mascots are goofy looking cats. Their Christmas windows had big sculptures of cats.





The store is otherwise very classy. It was quite crowded, the escalators were packed. I took them up to the 7th floor, the top floor. It was like a mini-tour of the store to go all the way up there. La Rinascente's 7th floor is the food area, where you can buy gourmet foods, and dine as well. The top floor is actually like a greenhouse, and there's an uncovered balcony on the side next to the Duomo.



I just sat out there to have a cocktail! I really enjoyed the view, and it isn't so crowded since "it's cold" now. I might go again tonight, actually!
