December 7 was Sant'Ambrogio day. He's the patron saint of Milan, and was the bishop of Milan in the 4th century. I visited the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio for mass. I first went down to the crypt, to see the body of Ambrose. It's a little creepy. He's just a skeleton at this point...
The decorations of the tomb are beautiful.
The altar stands pretty directly over the tomb. It was a pretty cool mass, with lots of choral music. The pews were not so comfortable, though.
This church is one of the oldest in Milan, and is a bit of a hodge-podge.
There was a bit of a bazaar in the courtyard and around the grounds. A few booths, and lots of second hand stuff donated to the church.
